Update on the LE NON MOI - THORNICO Prize 2024

We are honoured to share an inspiring update from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on the impact of the 2024 LE NON MOI Prize.

Update on the LE NON MOI - THORNICO Prize 2024

In June, we had the honour of welcoming Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to our LE NON MOI Soirée at Harridslevgaard Castle, where he received this year’s LE NON MOI Prize.

A prize which we present annually to an individual or team who, through their art, research or communication, enables more people to experience le non-moi; the important state of mind in which we forget the certainty of the self and allow ourselves to be absorbed, so that it feels as if time stops, disappears and everything is flowing. It is in that state of mind we as humans are at our best and feel best.

As a globally revered spiritual and humanitarian leader, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has reached millions of people through his teachings and organisations, including the international, non-profit, educational and humanitarian organisation Art of Living. Sri Sri’s Sudarshan Kriya breathing technique has proven effective worldwide across all levels of society. The techniques facilitate physical, mental and emotional well-being and enable more, at least partially and temporally, to let go of ego and self-consciousness. That is what the LE NON MOI Prize celebrates.

What has happened since the award ceremony?

Along with the LE NON MOI – THORNICO Prize, we present a unique piece of artwork and a grand prize of DKK 250,000.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar graciously directed these funds toward his Public Charitable Trust, the Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir Trust (SSRVM), which he founded in 1999 as the educational wing of the Art of Living, supporting children’s education in India.

Examples of the Trust’s initiatives:

  • Distribution of uniforms, notebooks, and school bags: Ensuring that students across the country receive essential supplies for their education.

  • Examinations: Providing students with opportunities to demonstrate their learning and academic progress.

  • Health checkups: Conducting routine health assessments to ensure the well-being of students, alongside offering basic health education on hygiene and wellness.

  • Environmental responsibility: Initiating tree planting, cleaning school surroundings and toilets, and implementing rainwater harvesting systems to raise environmental awareness.

  • Har Ghar Dhyan: Engaging youth in mental health education and equipping them with meditation practices to enhance their health and well-being.

According to the Trust’s report, part of the funds from the LE NON MOI – THORNICO Prize have been used to distribute new uniforms, school bags, and notebooks to students in their free schools across India.

A heartfelt thank you to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for his significant contributions to improving the lives of children. We are deeply grateful that, through the LE NON MOI Prize 2024, we have been able to play a small part in this meaningful work.
